The movie has been shot in Pune and England. The music has been given by renowned music composer duo Salim Merchant and Sulaiman Merchant and the lyrics have been penned by Irfan Siddiqui.
‘Teen Patti’ is plotted around the meeting of two great geniuses at a casino in London. World renowned mathematician Perci Tratchtenberg (Ben Kingsley) meets Venkat Subramaniam (Amitabh Bachchan), a brilliant mathematician from India. Venkat sets out to crack a theory to redefine the principles of probability and randomness. He trains five of his brightest protagonists (Madhavan, Siddharth Kher, and newcomers Dhruv Ganesh, Vaibhav Talwar and Shraddha Kapoor) to test his theory in real life, for high-stake gambling.
Perci takes on to understand that Venkat’s new theory definitely has far reaching implications on mathematics and science. The theory distinguishes the questions of what is fate and what is random. When acquired, the knowledge can be dangerous, especially if it passes into wrong hands. Soon, Venkat is seen turning the experiment into a deadly game beyond his control. His brilliance asks from him a price that threatens to destroy him. Will he have to sacrifice his life for this knowledge?
