Indian Railway Budget 2010 Highlights – Mamata Banerjee main points railway budget 2010

Union Minister for Railways Mamata Banerjee will present her 2nd Rail Budget  on Wednesday February 24. People have lots of expectation from Mamta Banerjee. These may be the key highlghts of railway budget 2010

  • No hike in railway passenger fares this Budget. However possibility of selectively hiking freight rates. “No hike in freight rates of food grains and fertilizer is expected,” but, iron our, coal and cement freight rates are likely to go up.
  • Non stop rail services expected to increase in number this year.
  • Special railway security fund this Budget – People expecting safe rail journey from Mamata Banerjee in Railway Budget 2010 let see what will mamata disclose tomarrow for the railway people.

Nirmal pandey dead – Actor Nirmal pandey died, passed away

Nirmal Pandey actor known for his roles in Iss Raat Ki Subah Nahin and Bandit Queen, died on yesterday afternoon because of  massive heart attack at the middle age of 48 years.

“Actually, Nirmal was almost dead when he was brought to our hospital around 3.15 pm. He was completely unconscious and his vital parameters were almost at zero level.”

The hospital official added that they might do a post-mortem, if Nirmal’s relatives allowed it. “We have not taken a decision yet.” Nirmal had married writer Kausar Munir in 1997, but they reportedly separated a few years later.

Shekhar Kapoor, who directed Nirmal in Bandit Queen, was shell shocked. “That’s terrible news. I have some very fond memories of Nirmal.”

Nirmal was last seen in the Telugu movie Kedi, starring Nagarjuna, which released last week. In fact, today Nirmal was supposed to shoot for Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan’s film Lahore.

Said a shaken Chauhan, “He was to spend the whole of Friday and Saturday with me.”

Chauhan further said that Nirmal was quite happy in life. “Nirmal had settled down and married a girl called Archana after his divorce from his first wife, Kausar Munir. I am a debutant director and he was very supportive of me. He was a hardworking actor. I was horrified to learn that someone as young as him died of a heart attack. Life is so uncertain. It’s a big blow to his family,” added Chauhan.

Bharti zain news updates – Zain accepts Bharti offer

Kuwait based telecom company Zain have accepted a $10.7 billion offer (around Rs 49,700 crore) from Bharti Airtel excluding Sudan and Morocco.

Zain’s Africa assets include around 70 million customers. The firm’s have presence across Africa and the Middle East.

Africa represents about 62% of Zain’s customers, shows information on the company’s website. The key shareholders in Zain are the KIA and the Kuwaiti family-owned conglomerate, the Kharafi group. The Kharafi Group, owned by one of the Middle East’s wealthiest families, holds 11% in Zain. In October 2009, Zain had halted talks to sell its African assets. ‘‘Bharti is to pay Zain $10 billion by mid-April, and the rest later in the year,’’ sources added.

Bharti Airtel had agreed to buy 70% of Bangladesh’s Warid Telecom for $300 million in the last month. Its first overseas acquisition, the move had signalled a new strategy adopted by the firm, of scaling up globally through a string of small and medium-sized acquisitions in developing economies.

cochin haneefa latest news – Malayalam actor cochin haneefa died, passed away

Cochin Haneefa at age 59 died today afternoon at Sri Ramachandra Medical College in Chennai. Haneefa was suffering from kidney and liver related problem. The body will be kept at his Saligramam residence in Chennai till tomorrow afternoon. He will be buried at his home town in Kochin on Wednesday.

Saleem Ahmed Ghoush became Cochin Haneefa after his stage name. He started his career in the late 70’s as a villain andbecame one of the popular comedians of Malayalam film industry.He has done more than 300 films in Malayalam and nearly 80 Tamil and a few Hindi films. Haneefa has also directed seven films in Malayalam and six in Tamil. He was also known for his brilliant scripts.

In Malayalam his last release was Siddique’s Bodyguard and in Tamil it was Vijay’s Vettaikaran. He has also done Madrasapattinam which will be his last release in Tamil.

Haneefa is a big loss to the indian and malayalam film industry.
