Airtel My Tunes in delhi now

Airtel has launched ‘My Tunes’ for Delhi subscribers. My Tunes are different from caller tunes . In this the caller (an Airtel subscriber) chooses what they want to listen to as they wait for the recipient to answer their call.The service is available at a subscription fee of Rs. 15 per week or 30 paise per minute of use. Subscribers will have choices from over half a million tracks in 23 categories including Bollywood, devotional and English rock.

Airtel 3G service in india by year end

Bharti Airtel  will bring out the the 3G services in India by the year end. At present company’s core network is 3G ready, billing, application and content ready and once bids are through services will take six to eight months after that informed o Bharti Airtel CEO (India and South Asia) Sanjay Kapoor.

Incidentally, the auction for 3G spectrum has been scheduled to take place on April 9, 2010 but the winning operators can only start the commercial launch after September 1, 2010. Bharti has bid for both 3G and BWA licenses. Airtel, which has a subscriber base of 124.6 million, has already have devices which are 3G ready.

Bharti zain news updates – Zain accepts Bharti offer

Kuwait based telecom company Zain have accepted a $10.7 billion offer (around Rs 49,700 crore) from Bharti Airtel excluding Sudan and Morocco.

Zain’s Africa assets include around 70 million customers. The firm’s have presence across Africa and the Middle East.

Africa represents about 62% of Zain’s customers, shows information on the company’s website. The key shareholders in Zain are the KIA and the Kuwaiti family-owned conglomerate, the Kharafi group. The Kharafi Group, owned by one of the Middle East’s wealthiest families, holds 11% in Zain. In October 2009, Zain had halted talks to sell its African assets. ‘‘Bharti is to pay Zain $10 billion by mid-April, and the rest later in the year,’’ sources added.

Bharti Airtel had agreed to buy 70% of Bangladesh’s Warid Telecom for $300 million in the last month. Its first overseas acquisition, the move had signalled a new strategy adopted by the firm, of scaling up globally through a string of small and medium-sized acquisitions in developing economies.

Airtel Freedom Plan – Airtel 1 paisa per second tariff plan

Airtel Freedom Plan -  Airtel 1 paisa per second plan for its customers. Under this ‘Freedom Plan’, Airtel users would be charged 1 paise per second for all Local and STD calls to Airtel numbers and 1.20 paise per second for local and STD calls to other network, said a press release.The Freedom Plan would be available across the country in all the 4.25 lakhs towns and villages covered by the Airtel distribution network.

Today, our network covers 110 million customers, has 100,000 sites and is available across 4.25 lakh towns and villages in 1.5 million outlets,” said Atul Bindal, president, Mobile Services, Bharti Airtel Ltd.

He added that in keeping with their ethos of providing the best to their customers, they are delighted to offer a one second pulse to those customers who find value in this pulse. Customers now have a wide choice of plans based on their usage and calling patterns.
