All the people are waiting for Greater Hyderabad Muncipal Corporation (GHMC) election results. Counting of the results will be held in 24 centres at 8 am. Nearly 42.9 per cent of the 57 lakh voters cast their votes.Elections have been held for 150 muncipal wards. These 150 elected corporators will choose the mayor and deputy mayor. The counting of Votes of GHMC election started Today,26th November at 8.00 am.
The main contenders for these polls will be the Congress party and the Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM), though Telegu Desam Party (TDP), Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) and Praja Rajyam Party (PRP) are also in the queue. An alliance is expected between the MIM and the Congress, to smoothly elect the mayor and deputy mayor.
According to the State Election Commission (SEC), 34 observers will be posted at the 24 counting centres to monitor the process. “One observor will be stationed at each counting centre, instead of communting between the counting centres as was planned earlier”, B Venkateshwara Rao, secretary to SEC, said.
