Olive Telecommunication launched the India’s first 3G enabled netbooks – the company named them “Zipbooks” which are available in four colors. The notebooks are powered by Qualcomm’s QSC6085 chipset and support EV-DO. The notebook is Wi-Fi powered and comes loaded with Windows software.
The Olive Zipbooks will be launched in two versions: EV-DO (using Tata Teleservices’ network) and HSPA (using BSNL’s network).Olive Telecommunication tied up with Tata Teleservices for its EVDO based netbooks which will be available to consumer from Tata Indicom Stores and through the Tata Photon channel. For the HSPA version based netbooks, the company has an agreement with BSNL, which would be made available in all BSNL 3G circles. The prices of olice 3G notebooks will be under Rs. 25,000 mark.
